Does Your Clock Need Attention?

Your clock may need service if:

It will not continue running

It stops at the same time each day

It runs too fast or too slowly

Cuckoo call sounds weak or silent

The call doesn't match the hour

Chains do not move properly

Weights fall too quickly

Hands are loose, bent, or off

Pendulum is missing or damaged

Music or dancers have stopped

Visible dirt, rust, or worn parts

Carvings, doors, or trim damaged

Important: Avoid applying household oil or forcing the hands, chains, doors, or animated parts. Improper oil and forced movement can cause additional damage.

Repair Services

Mechanical Repair

Inspection, cleaning, adjustment, movement repair, worn-part replacement, and testing.

Cuckoo Call & Bellows

The cuckoo's call depends on properly operating bellows, whistles, lift wires, and door mechanisms. These can harden, tear, or fall out of adjustment over time.

Music & Animation

Selected musical and animated clocks may be serviced depending on movement type, condition, and parts availability.

Chains, Weights & Pendulum

Missing or incorrect components prevent a clock from operating safely. Appropriate replacement parts may be sourced when available.

Hands & Dial

Loose or damaged hands, misaligned numbering, and incorrect strike sequences can be corrected as part of a repair.

Cabinet & Carving Work

Minor structural repairs, loose carvings, damaged doors, and selected cosmetic concerns may be addressed during restoration.

Preventive Service

A clock that still runs may benefit from inspection and maintenance before accumulated wear creates a more serious problem.

Restoration for Heirloom Clocks

Restoration is more comprehensive than repair. A repair addresses a specific problem. A restoration may cover the clock as a whole — movement, bellows, case, carvings, finish, and missing components.

Depending on the project, restoration may include:

  • Detailed mechanical inspection
  • Movement cleaning or rebuilding
  • Bellows restoration
  • Replacement of worn internal parts
  • Structural cabinet repair
  • Stabilization of loose carvings
  • Replacement of missing components
  • Gentle surface cleaning and finish conservation
  • Reassembly, adjustment, and extended testing

The appropriate level of restoration depends on the clock's condition, value, history, and intended use.

Mailing Your Clock

Do not ship a clock before contacting Webber Clocks LLC. Cuckoo clocks require special preparation for safe transport. We will confirm whether mail-in service is appropriate and provide packing instructions.

  • Weights and pendulums must be removed and wrapped separately.
  • Chains, doors, carvings, and moving parts must be secured.
