Repair & Restoration
How do I know whether my cuckoo clock is worth repairing?
Monetary value is only one consideration. Age, maker, condition, craftsmanship, repair cost,
and sentimental importance all matter. We can provide practical guidance after reviewing
photographs and, if necessary, inspecting the clock in person.
Can you estimate repairs from photographs?
Photographs may allow us to identify missing parts, visible damage, general clock type, and
likely concerns. A firm estimate usually requires physical inspection, especially for
mechanical issues not visible from the outside.
How long does a repair take?
Completion time depends on the project, current workload, parts availability, and testing
requirements. Simple adjustments may be completed more quickly, while comprehensive
restorations take more time. You will receive a general scheduling expectation when
your clock is accepted.
Do you work on battery-operated cuckoo clocks?
We primarily focus on mechanical clocks. Contact us with photographs and model information
to confirm whether we can assist with your specific clock.
Do you repair antique clocks?
We evaluate antique and vintage cuckoo clocks individually. Many antique clocks can be
restored, provided parts are available or can be fabricated.
Can you replace missing weights or pendulums?
Often yes. The correct component depends on the movement and clock design. Using an
incorrect weight can damage the mechanism. We will identify the appropriate replacement
based on your clock's specifications.
Should I oil my clock?
Do not use household oil, spray lubricant, or general-purpose oil.
Incorrect lubrication attracts dirt and can damage the movement. Professional clock oil
is applied only after proper cleaning and in minimal amounts to specific pivot points.
My clock only runs for a few minutes. What should I check?
Make sure the clock is hanging vertically, the pendulum swings evenly, the chains are
unobstructed, and the clock produces an even "tick-tock." Do not force any parts if
they appear damaged. Contact us if the problem persists.
Can every clock be repaired?
No. Severe corrosion, missing components, unavailable parts, prior damage, or shipping
risk may make some projects impractical. We will explain this honestly and help you
understand your options.
Shipping
Can I mail my clock to you?
Eligible projects may be accepted by mail. Contact us before shipping so we can review
the clock and confirm it is suitable for shipment. We will provide detailed packing
instructions.
How should a cuckoo clock be packed?
Weights and pendulums must be removed and wrapped separately. Chains and moving parts
must be secured. Delicate carvings need substantial protection. Never place loose weights
inside the clock case. We provide detailed packing guidance before shipment.
Who pays for shipping?
Customers are responsible for incoming and return shipping unless otherwise agreed in
writing. Shipping cost is based on distance, insurance, and method of transport.
Is shipping insurance required?
Adequate insurance is strongly recommended. Webber Clocks LLC is not responsible for
damage that occurs before delivery or after the clock is transferred to the return
carrier.
Adopting & Buying Clocks
Are the clocks new or vintage?
Our inventory includes both vintage/restored clocks and new clocks sourced from River
City Clocks. The condition and service status are clearly stated in each listing.
Are the vintage clocks in perfect condition?
Vintage clocks are not new. They may have small dings or scratches. We only replace what
is necessary to make them run and cuckoo, preserving as much of the original clock as
possible. Pricing reflects this.
Will my clock be ready to run when it arrives?
Mechanical clocks must be unpacked, hung correctly, leveled, and adjusted after
transportation. Instructions are included. Minor timing regulation may be needed once
the clock settles into its new location. See our adoption information for pendulum
adjustment guidance.
What is your return policy?
If you are not completely satisfied, we will provide a refund within 14 days of you
receiving your clock. Please notify us and let us know before sending the clock back.
We want you and the clock to both be happy in their forever home.
Do you buy clocks?
We consider selected cuckoo clocks based on age, maker, condition, style, completeness,
and resale potential. Send clear photographs, dimensions, maker information, condition
details, and your asking price via the contact page.
